Brooklyn Park in northern Hennepin County is the sixth most populous city in Minnesota. The city can be found on the west bank of the Mississippi Riverm upstream from downtown Minneapolis. Brooklyn Park’s population was 75,781 at the 2010 census.


Settlers from Michigan formally established the township and named it after their hometown of Brooklyn, Michigan. As the name suggests, the city has plenty of natural areas and parks, as well as community centers for residents’ use. Along those lines, Brooklyn Park is known for being home to the Edinburgh USA Golf Course. Brooklyn Park is served by three school districts: Osseo Area School District 279, the Anoka-Hennepin School District 11 and Robbinsdale School District. In addition to access to a public school system, Rasmussen College, North Hennepin Community College, and Hennepin Technical College have branches open in this community.
